Attorney Widman has advised and represented U.S. citizen and lawful permanent resident clients in petitioning for immigrant visas allowing their family members to enter the United States permanently and in applying for adjustment of status for immediate relatives already present in the United States. Attorney Widman has significant experience and expertise in advising and representing aspiring lawful permanent residents who are inadmissible because they have been convicted of a crime or have accrued unlawful presence or have committed an immigration violation in the past. He also represents clients in removal proceedings and provides strategic guidance and assistance to obtain relief from deportation. Attorney Widman also provides counsel and representation to startups in H-1B, PERM labor certification and I-140 matters, and has successfully obtained approval of H-1B, L-1, O-1, and TN visas, labor certification, national interest waivers, immigrant visas for multinational managers, executives and outstanding researchers, and other employment based immigrant visas leading to lawful permanent residence.

    • Secured post-conviction relief in state court which became basis for successfully terminating removal proceedings. Successfully filed other motions for administrative closure to remove cases from Immigration Court's docket and for termination of removal proceedings to prevent deportation.
    • Successfully moved to reopen (Form I-290B) USCIS denial of application of Form I-485 and obtain adjustment of status under INA 245(i).
    • Won U.S. government-funded (Fulbright) J-1 waiver case resulting in exemption from the two-year home country-residence requirement.
    • Successfully obtained H-1B petition approval for change of employer and extension of status under AC21.
    • Successfully obtained approval of employment-based adjustment of status application under AC21, by demonstrating that new job offer was in "same or similar occupational classification" as job offer described in approved I-140.
    • Successfully obtained O-1 visa for client by proving extraordinary ability in the arts.
    • Successfully obtained I-601 waivers of inadmissibility based on showing of extreme hardship to U.S. citizen spouse and I-601A Provisional Unlawful Presence Waiver for spouse of U.S. citizen pursuant to an approved immediate relative petition.
    • Successfully obtained multiple K-1 visa approvals for fiancées of U.S. citizens.
    • Successfully represented clients in adjustment of status proceedings, including USCIS fraud interviews, leading to grant of permanent residence.
    • Secured multiple grants of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and related work permits, including successfully responding to a Notice of Intent to Deny which resulted in USCIS granting DACA.
    • Successfully represented clients in removal of conditions on residence (I-751) proceedings.
    • Secured certification of helpfulness to law enforcement for U visa petitioner and obtained waiver of grounds of inadmissibility and approval of petition for U nonimmigrant status.
    • Successfully removed conditions on 2-year permanent residence for I-751 petitioners.
    • Persuaded USCIS to retract notice of rescission of adjustment of status and to approve related citizenship application.
    • Persuaded U.S. Department of State to withdraw its finding of inadmissibility, reverse its refusal of immigrant visa, and approve underlying immigrant visa application.
    • Contributed numerous hours of pro bono services to local, community-based organizations.
