On June 24, 2016, Timothy D. Widman will be speaking at the American Immigration
Lawyers Association's (AILA) Annual Conference on Immigration Law
(June 22-25, 2016) in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mr. Widman will lead a discussion
on the Business Fundamentals panel entitled “How to Roll the Dice
in Sticky Situations: The Ethical Implications of Immigration Fees and
Costs Covered by Companies and Employees.” Mr. Widman and his fellow
panelists will speak on ethical issues related to dual representation
of employers and employees in business immigration cases, including formation
of the attorney-client relationship, confidential communications, the
attorney’s ethical duties to employees, who is required to pay fees
in employment-based immigration applications, dealing with fee nonpayment
issues, and drafting fee agreements which avoid ethical pitfalls. To register
